BASIC
PLS CARD:
User-friendly
Interface
The front mount unit has 2 line x 20 character LCD display for
menu driven programming and for providing maximum information on
one screen. A 4 digit of LEDs display is provided for displaying
machine position, RPM, and other commonly used parameters. The
keypad provides hot keys to quickly access different modules. The
keypad provides a full numeric keypad for direct entry of
numerical information as well as 5 Simple Programming Keys common
to several other Autotech products.
Individual
Speed Compensation for the first 8 PLS Outputs
The M1920 PLS features a rate offset to compensate for speed
variations. This rate offset represents a positive number that
varies linearly with RPM. The rate offset is added to the resolver
position and is used to advance the PLS settings as a function of
the machine speed. In M1920, the rate offset can be programmed in
scale factor units per 100 rpm up to full scale factor value.
Multiple
Program Storage Makes Job Changeover Easy The
M1920 PLS can store up to 100 independent, user defined PLS
programs for different machine setups to reduce down time. job
names can be applied to the M1920 PLS programs, then these names
can be used through the menus to select, search, rename, copy or
even delete the program! This job name will reside on the display
with position and RPM to ensure that's the job you're working on.

Intelligence
of 6 Microprocessors in Unison
As shown in the block diagram above, M1920 PLS has up to 6
microprocessors performing 6 logically independent tasks, yet
working in unison.
Because
of the power of 6 microprocessors, M1920 PLS can process all 80
PLS outputs in a mere 280 microseconds at 600 RPM simultaneously.
Built-in Brake Wear Monitor for OSHA Compliance
The M1920 PLS offers a built-in brake wear monitor in the basic
unit. The Brake Wear Monitor accepts an input from clutch/brake
circuit and measures the stopping time of the press after the
brake is applied. If the stopping time, measured in milliseconds,
exceeds programmed danger limit, fail safe output is de-energized,
which can be used to disable further press operation. If the
stopping time exceeds programmed caution limit, the caution output
energizes. The brake time can be displayed on the M1920 PLSs 4
digit LED display.
Fine-Tune
in Motion
The PLS module is designed for your total convenience. The
setpoints can be fine-tuned while the machine is in motion, making
machine set up extremely simple. The convenient UP/DOWN arrow keys
increment/decrement the setpoints. Supervisory control inputs are
provided to prevent unauthorized, and unintentional change of
setpoints.
Fully
Isolated Inputs and Outputs
All M1920 inputs and outputs are fully isolated from user power
sources to provide outstanding electrical noise immunity in harsh
industrial environments.
